Visit The Infirmary Museum Today!
The other week I had the opportunity to visit the Infirmary Museum in Worcester, this specific museum is located on the Worcester University City campus. I used to study at Worcester University, most of my lectures were at the City campus, I would walk past this museum, again and again, never going in. Now, in my defence, let’s be honest I was usually hungover, in a rush and didn’t know where I was going. However, as the years passed, I got in contact with the head of the Infirmary, and he invited me back, I appreciated it a lot more this time.
The museum itself is an exhibition combining history, science, art and technology to explore the medical stories of one of England’s oldest infirmaries. Once you enter this museum, you are immediately blown away by the extensive information offered to you; it’s just amazing. Worcester isn’t the biggest city, but it sure does have a vast history behind it. One of the fascinating aspects is the change in medicine, nowadays we take for granted how far we have come but looking back you can see what significant developments have been made to get to the place we are for modern medicine.
What’s great though is this isn’t just a great museum packed with fascinating history. They have recently launched the ‘Sherlock Holmes escape run’ A maze inside the museum where you are locked inside, and you have to work out how to escape! This is a great team building exercise for colleagues or an excellent family activity.
If you are looking for something new to try, then this is the place to go. For more information about them and what they have to offer, head over to their website and have a read.
